GORIO’S ICE CREAM HAS TO GO

+

gorio-ice-creamGorio’s Ice Cream, a. k. a. ‘Sorbetes ni Gorio’, was donated last Dec. 3, 2008 at the Rockwell Tent for the cause to get the beautiful “Ploning” film to the United States where it can be viewed in all states and then be rightfully entered in the foreign film category of the 81st Annual Academy Awards — the illustrious Oscars.

Hundreds of renowned local artists (painters of all media and sculptors) gathered there to donate their artworks for the fund-raising drive for shipping “Ploning” to the other side of the earth. I was so awed that ‘Sorbetes ni Gorio’ was chosen as one from among the many donors.

As “Ploning” officially made it to the Oscars, according to the Asian Journal, as one of 69 entries in the foreign language film division, it sady did not make it to the nominations, as we have learned from the turn out in the Oscars.

We will have another day, someday.
